Memories With Her Animatic

Process & Development

This animatic is inspired by a project “Memories with Her” in which I collaborated to create a visual novel about a queer women, Mei, who grieves the death of her long-term girlfriend Cora through looking at a series of polaroid photos and revisiting locations significant to their relationship.

This game was inspired by the themes of queer loss in Félix González-Torres’
“Untitled” (Portrait of Ross in L.A.), and the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in  Queering the Map founded by Lucas LaRochelle. I contributed to the game through illustrating Cora and writing the story.

The animatic was created as a way to develop the story and showcase it as a trailer to audiences in an easily-digestable format. As the sole animator for this project, it became a passion project to practice storyboarding!
